Halloween
The spookiest day of the year, Halloween is a holiday of ancient pagan origin. The Celtic harvest festival Samhain was marking the beginning of winter, a dark and cold time. It held great significance, and even though today’s Halloween is a much more carefree holiday, some of the old Samhain traditions still live to this day, for example, wearing costumes or making lanterns of vegetables.
